The cicadas have been making themselves known this Spring.
There seems to be a much higher emergence than this time last year.
Large, small, green, brown, black and variations inbetween.
They haul themselves up grass stems, shrub remains, blackened trees, herb foliage, and door frames.
They have been also been bird snacks while their remaining ground holes become convenient new shelters
for wandering wolfspiders and the like.
