Breach

A two-night durational performance staged in the glass cube of the Oxford Art Factory for FREEFALL October 2012. Choosing to enclose the performance area with venetian blinds, curtains and brown paper was a deliberate act to reverse the innately voyeuristic space and create a room inside a room. Over three hours the idea of a rift or a breach was explored. Through the cracks and fissures a sense of intrigue built alongside a choreography, of conceal and reveal. A random invitation to enter played out – a breach. Film noir tropes were exploited and a text emerged from unwitting interviews. The writing was on the wall.
