Video Installation

Between 1988 and 1993 over 12 Video and Sound Installation works were created and exhibited in local and national galleries and festivals. Working with combinations of still and moving image and SVHS tape, I devised a unique technique to develop my multi-layered and slowly dissolving images. Most installations were composed of 2 or more video monitors and these were often displayed vertically, on their sides, on their backs and conventionally. For each video I composed and recorded an individual soundtrack, which contributed to the larger composition emanating from all the monitors as a whole. Found objects, furniture and live fish tanks were often incorporated. Themes explored gender, place, memory and transcendance.
